The "Lament Configuration" Puzzle Box from Hellraiser (I, II, III etc..)

Long before I was etching printed circuit boards, I was etching brass panels and trying to find ways to get them to stick onto blocks of wood.

This is a replica of the Lament Configuration puzzle box that was used in the Hellraiser series of movies. The book (The Hellbound Heart) describes a plain black lacquered box, but in the movie they used this rather natty looking brass version.

I think I made about 8 of them in total – this one is showing it’s age, but as far as I know the others still look pretty darned good. I’ve given them to people in the US, UK and Australia.

I’ll have to dig out my notes on the technique and put them on the site.

I’m a huge fan of Clive Barker’s work – I got to meet him a few years ago and he was a really nice chap.
