I remember checking a couple of pieces against the TV version, and seemed to think that they were correct - I only checked two of them, but that was enough for me! :)

Unfortunately this is NOT a correct version of the key to time. I made one of these paper models a couple of years ago and was quite pleased with it....until I began trying to work out which episode each segment came from. The more I studied the television episodes the more I realised that these pieces are totally incorrect.
I did some research on the internet and found a website featuring original Doctor Who props (www.doctorwhoprops.com). One of the props on this site was the original Key to Time prop. I contacted the owner of this prop and he told me the story of how producer John Nathan-Turner came to give him this amazing item. He also confirmed to me that the pattern circulating on the web is completely inaccurate.
SO....If anyone wants an authentic version you will have to be very careful. It would seem that some very dubious material has been posted as authentic, when is is definitely not.
