As some of you know I ordered a Wicked Laser’s S3 “Arctic” blue laser some time ago [Jun 16th to be precise – Ed]. In that time I’ve contacted them 3 times to get a ship date – every time it was always “within the next 2 weeks”, but so far… nothing.
Which is a shame as I was going to try to build the next version of the laser harp featuring one of these 1 Watt [actually those who *have* received them indicate that the measured power output is somewhere between 500mw and 750mw – Ed] beauties, but it seems like this is not going to happen.
I suspect that Wicked Lasers suffers from the same over-zealous sales and marketing tactics we see all too often. Just because R+D can make *one* working unit, does not mean they can ramp up production to meet the crushing demand that will appear the moment the advertising copy meets the (web) page.
Alternatively they could just have been banking on using all the cash generated by pre-sales to fund the production ramp up in the first place.
I’ll be giving them a little while longer to make good on the purchase I made way back in June, but I could really use the money to put towards one of these instead:
I’ve been on the mailing list for this little guy for a while now, and it looks like they are about to take preorders.

Stephen, hope you get you laser buddy, this mob has become really slow, they wont even acknowledge my emails, even though they took my money for the same damn product. Do you want to make a laser satellite, put it in orbit and blow these buggers off the planet? 🙁
My cousin recommended this blog and she was totally right, keep up the fantastic work!
