RGB LED Light cube, now available at Fry’s

$99 RGB Lightcube

I’ve been following the development of the LED lightcube for quite a while. I was in my local Fry’s earlier tonight when I noticed they were selling this 4x4x4 cube for $99. Initially I wasn’t going to buy it, but after careful consideration I thought that the saving in labo[u]r costs were probably worth it.

64 RGB LEDS with a PIC18F driving 4 AHC574 (Edge Triggered Flip Flops) to signal all the LEDs.

Almost certainly hackable…

…will update when more information is available.

I have constructed my own LED Light cube with little help from “http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Cube-4x4x4/” . Constructing it was fun!

This is so awesome. 3D LED lights! I wanted to have lead lights on my bike. What do you think about this option?
